What Material are used in your barn doors?
For Stain-Grade Doors, we build using Rustic Alder Hardwood, offering a luxurious yet rustic finish. All Stained Doors are sanded to a smooth finish and top coated with multiple layers for added protection and smoothness. Paint-Grade doors are made using High Density Engineered Wood, ensuring a smooth, cabinet-like paint finish. 2-3 Primer coats are applied and sanded before final paint coats are applied. If you prefer a specific wood species such as White Oak, Cherry, Cedar, Redwood, or Hickory for your doors, simply inform us, and we'll provide a customized quote tailored to your preferences. Can SoCal Barn Doors Install my New Barn Door System?
Currently, SoCal Barn Doors can only offer installations within a 75 mile radius of our shop in San Marcos, CA 92069. We do offer custom crated and shipping via domestic freight shipping (curbside delivery) to customers within the Continental United States. Check out our Delivery Page here.
How Long Does It Take Build My Custom Barn Door?
At SoCal Barn Doors, each of our doors is meticulously handcrafted in our workshop located in Southern California. Due to our dedication to quality craftsmanship, please anticipate a production time of 6–10 weeks for standard doors and 4–6 weeks for paint-grade doors. Additionally, freight shipping may require an additional shipping time. It's important to note that these timeframes are estimates and not definitive commitments. If you require expedited service, please don't hesitate to inquire about our expedite fee.
Can I schedule an On-site Measurement Appointment with SoCal Barn Doors?

Can I Schedule An Outside Contractor To Install My SoCal Barn Door?
For Sure! Please refrain from scheduling any contractors to install your door until your shipment from SoCal Barn Doors has arrived and you've thoroughly inspected it for any potential damage. It's important to note that delays and damages can occur, and SoCal Barn Doors cannot be held responsible for any expenses incurred due to scheduling or rescheduling of contractors. Do I need to be present at time of delivery?
Yes. You are required to be present to sign and accept delivery from SoCal Barn Doors or our designated freight shipping carrier. Failure to be present at the scheduled delivery time or being late may result in a wait fee imposed by the freight shipping carrier, for which you will be responsible. Please note that our wooden crates are not waterproof and should not be left outdoors for extended periods.
